Read these instructions and the charging instructions in the electric vehicle manual carefully before charging the vehicle.
Pay particular attention to the information marked with the following terms:

Caution: This symbol indicates caution. You may in fact do something that risks damaging the device.

Danger: Indicates a risk involving death or serious injury if safety rules are not followed.

Safety Guidelines

  • Use this charging station to charge electric vehicles with a conductive charging connector. Please refer to your vehicle manual to check that it is equipped with a connector for conductive charging.
  • Ensure that the power cable of the charging station is positioned so that it is not stepped on, rolled up or in any way damaged or stressed.
  • No internal components can be repaired / replaced by the user. For any service enquiries, please refer to the 'Customer Service' chapter of this manual.
  • Do not use the charging station if there is visible damage to the charging station and/or power cable. Turn down the circuit breaker in the switch cabinet and contact your technical contact for installation immediately.

Safety Instructions

Danger: When using electrical devices, you should always employ basic precautions, including the following:

  • Read all safety instructions before using the product. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in danger of electrocution, fire and/or serious injury.
  • This device should be supervised when used in the presence of children.
  • Do not insert your fingers into the charging connector.
  • Do not use this product if the power cable or charging cable of the electric vehicle is frayed, has broken insulation or other signs of damage.
  • Do not use this product if the casing or connector is broken, cracked or shows any other signs of damage.

Danger: If at any time you feel that the equipment is unsafe, turn down the circuit breaker in the electrical cabinet and contact Customer Service immediately. Do not use the charging station until the problem is identified and corrected.

Caution: Children should not be allowed to use this charging station. Do not allow children to play around the charging station. Careful supervision of children is necessary when using the charging station.

Warning: do not open the casing.

This charging station is designed according to Mode 3 of the IEC61851 standard.
This product must be earthed. In case of malfunction or failure, grounding provides a path of least resistance to electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This product is equipped with a cable with an earthing conductor and an earthing contact.

Danger: Improper connection of the equipment's earthing conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or technician if in doubt as to whether the product is correctly grounded.

Description

This charging station is used for charging electric vehicles and complies with the main requirements of the IEC61851 standard.

Easy Charger is a simple and flexible solution for safely charging any electric vehicle at home or at work.

The charging power is manually adjustable so that this device can be adapted to each installation location and existing meter.

Easy Charger is available with 'fixed charging socket Type 2' or with 'integrated charging cable - 5 metres long - Type 2'.

Installation

  1. Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician in accordance with local regulations.
  2. There must be no voltage on the electrical system during the entire installation activity.
  3. Wiring of the power supply line and protections to be installed upstream:

Single-phase version (article code ES-RHP2M32/0 and ES-RHC2M32/0)
Wiring (for lengths up to 15m): 3G6.00mm2
Magnetothermal: 40A Curve C
Differential: 0.03A Type A

Three-phase version (article code ES-RHP2T32/0 and ES-RHC2T32/0)
Wiring (for lengths up to 15m): 5G6.00mm2
Magnetothermal: 40A Curve C
Differential: 0.03A Type A

Note: The charging station includes a device for measuring AC (> 30mA) and DC (> 6mA) earth fault currents. However, the installation of a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker and a type A earth leakage circuit breaker to protect the power supply line is required.

Note: the cross-section of the power supply line and the size of the circuit breaker refer to an installation capable of
to a current of 32A.
Since the charging current is adjustable (from 6A to 32A), it is possible to undersize the power line according to the current at which you wish to operate the charging station (e.g. if you wish to limit the current to 16A, a power line with a cross-section of 2.5 mm2 and a 20A circuit breaker is sufficient).
The earth leakage circuit breaker is always the same whatever the charging current.

  1. Open the bottom cover of the charging station (5 screws - see illustration).
Carefully break the opening for the power cable entry.
Use the supplied M25 cable gland to secure the power cable (bottom entry).
Use the supplied rubber grommet to secure the power cable (input from the rear).
  2. Use 4 screws with appropriate dowels on the mounting bracket to fix the station to the wall. The charging station should be installed between 0.8 m and 1.2 m (distance from the bottom point to the ground).
  3. Connect the power supply line to the connection terminals (INPUT - terminals on the left):
    Single-phase:
    L1 = Brown | N = Blue | Earth = Yellow / Green
    Three-phase:
    L1 = Brown | L2 = Black | L3 = Grey | N = Blue | Earth = Yellow / Green
  4. Select the required charging current with the rotary switch.Positions A to F: do not use.
The factory default value is 6A (position 0).
  5. Close the bottom cover.

IMPORTANT: In the case of charging stations with a fixed socket (i.e. not with integrated cable), before closing the cover, ensure that the socket interlock system (mounted above the charging socket) is not obstructed/blocked by cables and is in the 'open' position.

Use

  1. Connect the charging cable to the vehicle.
In models with 'fixed socket': use the Mode 3 charging cable supplied with the vehicle to connect the vehicle to the charging station.
In models with 'integrated cable': take the Type 2 charging connector and plug it into the vehicle's charging socket.
  2. The Ready/Charge LED lights up.
  3. Charging is automatically started at the charging current selected with the rotary switch (or lower, if the vehicle requires a lower current than the selected value).
lower current than the selected value).
  4. When charging is complete, the Ready/Charge LED goes out.
The charging cable can now be removed.

Note: A lower charging current produces fewer losses caused by heat, is better for safeguarding the life of the vehicle battery and reduces the probability of overcharging the energy meter.

KEY ON / OFF
The ON / OFF key is an optional accessory to be ordered when purchasing the charging station.
If present, it enables / disables the operation of the charging station (useful in cases where the installation site is accessible to third parties and you wish to prevent third parties from using the device).
The key can be removed in either position.
